Viajando en Español con Luis y Joan Rojas ©

might just be the next best thing

to immersion study

Luis and I have traveled to countries where Spanish is the native language and we have filmed real people having real conversations about real topics.  Nothing is scripted.  You see and hear what you would see or hear if you were there.  Then, we provide you additional tools so that you can understand what was said, how it was said and why it was said.  Here’s how it works.

*View the principal video

*Follow along (or not) with the transcript that is provided

*Go to the next set of videos and locate the ones that are associated with the principal video through the matching thumbnail.   Luis takes excerpts from the principal video and explains expressions, grammatical structures and/or other idiomatic details related to that particular country’s history and culture.

*Return to the principal video and watch it again with your increased understanding

*Now go to the audio files and locate the ones that are associated with the principal video through matching the thumbnail.  Listen to and repeat them until you can understand and replicate what you hear.  These are downloadable for your convenience.

*Return once again to the principal video and marvel at how much more you can hear and understand.

Finally, we ask you to communicate with us about your experience using this product.   We add new videos each month and we continue to travel and film, so we need to know what we can do to make this  the best possible learning experience for you.  In this way the product stays vital, dynamic and fresh.  Our goal is that you have a constant flow of material that you find helpful and valuable, regardless of your level.
